Making History
With a rich history dating back to 1908 and an even brighter future, we are internationally recognized as one of the largest and most versatile mints in the world.

The Royal Canadian Mint’s Ottawa facility is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Algonquin Anishnaabeg People.

Located in the heart of Ottawa along the banks of the Ottawa river, our headquarters occupies the same historic building where it was founded in 1908.

The Royal Canadian Mint’s Winnipeg facility rests on Treaty 1 territory and the land of the traditional territory of Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.

Established in 1976 as a high‑tech, high‑volume manufacturing facility, every single Canadian circulation coin is produced here, as well as circulation coins for countries around the world.
