A recent story from PepsiCo Canada highlights how one associate’s observation in the market inspired a unique initiative to celebrate and integrate Indigenous heritage within the company’s culture. In partnership with Mikinakoos, a grassroots Indigenous charity in Ontario, RISE Canada coordinated a bag-packing event to provide essential school supplies to First Nations children. Together, the teams filled backpacks with notebooks, pens, water, and non-perishable snacks, offering critical support to students in the Fort Hope First Nation—where a devastating fire recently destroyed their school. In just under an hour, 50 passionate PepsiCo volunteers packed 300 bags, directly benefiting children from Junior Kindergarten through Grade 9.
