Clean Harbors is organized into three business units:
- Technical Services – Clean Harbors Technical Services encompass a broad range of hazardous material management services including the collection, packaging, transportation, recycling, treatment and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste at Company-owned recycling, incineration, landfill, wastewater and other treatment facilities.
- Industrial and Field Services – Utilizing our extensive equipment inventory and technical expertise, Clean Harbors provides a variety of industrial and specialty services, including high pressure and chemical cleaning, pigging and decoking, and material processing. Our field services experts provide environmental cleanup services on client sites or at other locations on a scheduled or emergency basis, including tank cleaning, decontamination, remediation and spill cleanup.
- Oil and Gas Field Services – We also serve the oil and gas exploration, production and power generation industries by offering comprehensive oil and gas field services, including seismic services, surface rentals, lodging, and oilfield transport and production services.

Our private fleet of over 4,000 Company Drivers and 8,000 vehicles travelled more than 130 million miles in 2015 with safety as the No. 1 priority.
Clean Harbors Field Services provide experienced, trained and certified skilled labor and specialty equipment to perform various environmental cleanup services on customer sites or other locations. Working in hazardous and non-hazardous conditions, our Field Services crews and equipment are dispatched from service centers located throughout North America on a scheduled or emergency basis to manage routine industrial cleaning or to respond to a chemical or oil spill cleanup. Field Technicians must be willing to work at a variety of customer sites and be available to respond to emergency response calls during off-hours.
The Clean Harbors Sales team members are skilled in recognizing the client’s need for improvement and in cross selling a variety of different services and products to aid a diverse portfolio of customers throughout North America. From targeting potential clients, scoping, bidding potential jobs all the way to negotiating contracts, the Sales team successfully facilitates the full sales cycle with clients. The Clean Harbors Sales organization provides technical expertise and extensive resources or services to solve any clients’ problems ranging from small to large, crossing many different business markets.
Clean Harbors Chemical Packing Services provide technical expertise and extensive resources to handle laboratory chemicals, highly hazardous and reactive chemicals, radioactive materials, and cylinders and compressed gases. Clean Harbors CleanPack® Chemists are skilled in chemical recognition, categorization and packaging, and perform lab packing for schools, hospitals, research laboratories, and the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and chemical industries.
