Employee Testimonials
“I have been with Flint/URS/AECOM from July 2012 and have had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles which included: Document Control, Material Coordinator, Turnover Coordinator, Quality Control Assistant, Quality Control-Level 1 Inspector, Superintendent, Project Manager and now as the Manager-Aboriginal Community Engagement. The investment that AECOM provided me has certainly not gone unnoticed as I look at loyalty as being an asset that I personally hold as one of my VALUES. My commitment to my role is based on the fact that AECOM believed in what I can bring to this exciting and challenging position. I get the opportunity to travel, meet and strategize with a variety of individuals, companies and most importantly communities on a daily basis. I truly do Love my job and consider myself fortunate to come and work for AECOM every day.” ~ Marcel Pelletier
“I have gained so much experience working with AECOM. I continue to learn new things every single day. Right now I am a labourer in the fluid haul division. I have the opportunity to become a full time operator of the equipment. AECOM, formerly known as URS or Flint Energy Services, is a great company to work for. I am currently working at Husky Energy on the Sunrise SAGD (Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage) project 80km or so north of Fort McMurray. Women Building Futures assisted me with getting hired with AECOM. WBF has a passion for women entering the industry and I sensed that during my interview process before getting accepted into the Class 3 program. It was encouraging to see so many women believe that we can make an impact within the industry. I would recommend WBF to women looking to have a career with AECOM, a reliable and proud company.” ~ Erin M. Alexanders
“Right out of high school, I was looking for my first job and it was my mom who suggested I consider AECOM. She knew it was a good environment for a young person to start a career, so she encouraged me to apply. It’s good to have family looking out for you! I’m currently a class 1 driver operating a combination vacuum truck in an oilfield facility in Northern Alberta, Canada, and I’ve been working for the company for almost 10 years now. When I was first hired, I was a laborer doing very dirty, hard work. I spent a lot of time in vessels cleaning them and trying to prove I was as tough and as good as the men I worked beside. I earned respect from my team and supervisors for completing work effectively and efficiently — something I’m very proud of. I slowly made my way to operating a steamer unit and mentoring the crew of laborers who worked with me. Five years ago, I decided I wanted a little more from myself and obtained my class 1 driver’s license and started operating a vacuum truck and eventually operating a combination unit. AECOM has always given me the opportunity to advance in my career, and our manager and supervisors encourage us to learn new things and take full advantage of development opportunities. My future is still wide open as to where it will take me, and I’m always searching for new adventures. I want to expand my knowledge and experience and know the team of people I work with will support me — helping me find the right position to advance me in my career. It’s been hard work, but I’m proud of where I am and who I’ve become.” – Kimberely
